I have some suggestions I would like people to at least acknowledge.

1/ We have a serious issue with signature sizes! They are far to big and can cause problems with any of our dial-up members. Plus, at such a massive size, with other conflicting ones in the signature, it looks messy (no offense). Now I'm no photoshop pro, but I can re-size stuff it people need it. We could reall do with having a set signature size like 500x150 pixels or something. It looks much neater and s far more pleasing to the eyes.

2/ We have an ever increasing amount of memebrs signing up and not posting anywhere. So I suggest that after we accept a suitable bio, the player has two weeks to post before their account is deleted. Sounds tough but it'll keep our numbers trim and much easier to see active members. It will also turn down the need for Activity checks so often which brings me to my next point...

3/ Activity checks last too long. Our current one is lasting until April, I believe. While it's good and all to give people a decent amount of time to say "I'm active!" the time we are giving is just too much. Anyone could hop on for a few minutes just to save their account and then disappear. I also (here's where I know I'm getting harsh but -shrugs-) I don;t think there should be a 'safe' list of people -avoids bricks- Just saying.

4/ Another leetle note (I'll shut-up soon I promise) We have A LOT of inactive members with inactive cats, in high positions as well as lower ones. It may be worth to trim those down, particularly anyone who hasn't posted in say...4 months?

&& yeah, I don't like huge siggies well, i wouldn't mind if there was only one big one, but more than that would annoy me... and possibly make me internet slow

The siggie size was only a quickie suggestion :3 I hadn't put any though into how big/small it should be. 500x150 is what I'd consider 'normal' and 500x200 isn't that big a difference.

And as for links to bios, that's a verra good idea, hadn't thought of mentioning that. The code is super simple too.You know the way we have our characters names listed in our signatures? (or are supposed to anyway) Jsut have them hyperlinked to our bios :3

Single character accounts....It works on DCLU. With a bit of personalisation, perhaps it'd work here too. It would mean that each account would have an avatar and signature set that suited their cat, not random icons and whatnot~ I could help out with that it needs be :3 BUT I don't know how T feels about them and this is her board after all.

It's nice to see people approve anyway. Still need T to have a look see and put in the final word :U Along with other members of course, always nice to know what people think.

well, I know the activity check is really long, but I thought you like that cause the last last one you said it was too quick so i made that longer so I made this longer. And I like the give them two weeks thing. But I'm afraid I'll delete someone who was grounded or something.

Then that's their own problem. Plus, they could always sneak on at the library or something and state that they are grounded and are unable to come on. I'm not encouraging our members to rebel against their parents or anything, but there will be ways for them to contact us.

I think the suggestions are magnificent, but I'm afraid they won't be followed through. This site has a tendency to overlook rules more often than not. (Not pointing fingers, but you know who you are.)

Also, for others who were maybe curious about mah idea; Here be the PM I sent T. It's nothing private but nI didn;t want to psam the arse outta the thread until T gave her opinionsss.

I'm gonna try and exlain this as best I can >__o I'm not always great with words and whatnot.

I suggest that instead of having 'ranks' like New Member, Veteran Member etc we have member groups (with no powers) for all the clans. New member would be the only rank left and would help us see who has not posted a bio/needs one approved. Once that's done, they get their status changed to the member group clan they chose for their cat.
(This would also intertwine with Breezy's idea for seperate accounts, which I think would work very nicely!)

Say, I signed up with the name Ferntail. My status would be 'New member' at first. Then I would post my bio, an admin would check it over, approve it and change the member group to Thunderclan.

The member groups would have their own specified colours too like yellow for Thunderclan, blue for Riverclan etc, etc.

But Admins and Mods would still have to be under the admin or moderator group and not under their chosen clan.

EDIT: Also, I was wondering....is there a member here who would be interested in making the signature and avatar sets if we do go to single accounts? Matching stuff looks verra nice. Plus, there could be a post requirement before a member could get a snazzy set. That's only IF T decides to go with single accounts. I'ma not sure if she will :U

In regard to the member-groups thing;;
I very much believe that the member group/character-account sorting will help us organize our members more ~ I agree with the reason's Fern gave us; plus, if the accounts go inactive, then we can, instead of deleting them, give them a probabtion period where other members can apply for the characters (let the accoutn sit around for, say, twenty days following declaration of inactivity -- and then delete the account anyways;)

In regard to un-used characters;;
The above-stated thoughts ties into another thought that I've been entertaining for a while -- instead of just letting characters sit around and not be role played as, we could put the abandoned//confiscated characters up for adoption;

In regard to staff-member accounts;;
I'm getting conflicting feelings on the no-clan-member-group for the staff member accounts;; part of me wants us to get sort of complicated and create staff membergroups for the corresponding clans --- and part of me wants the staff accounts to be just that: staff accounts, with no characters on them;; they could be full of stuff that tells the members about them (we could have links to help desks, graphic studios, questions and help, rules, forum information, and need-to-read threads IN THE SIGNATURES);

In regard to signatures and matching sets;;
I like that idea very much -- a matching set would really help promote the image that the forum is a professionally run website (which is pretty much wishful thinking at the moment >___>; We would need someone who could regularily produce a matching set -- and we'd need to compile a stock of character photos;;

Staff Accounts~

I really like that idea. Like serious woah. The idea of having just staff accounts for members to PM questions to, bee-yoo-tee-full. If that were to be implemented, I would rather make a fresh account for such a thing seeing as Ferntail's name is used for this one, and keep this account as her character account. But yah :3

Matching Sigs & Avs~

We need someone who would be willing to make signatures regularly for us. I still think that a posting quota would be needed before someone could request and avatar though. Those things take time to make and I'd hate it if someone just went inactive after I made them a signature. I have a feeling the sentiment would be the same.

Un-used characters~

Hmm. I'm not sure about putting other people's characters up for adoption, even if they gone inactive. What if they come back and start claiming them back? We can't just give someone else's creation away because they gone inactive. It'd be better to just write them out of the plot/story that may be going on.


Out of curiousity, how many people on here found this place through Warriors the RPG? An insanely busy board where plots move at snails pace. But that's where I found COAC. In all honesty I wouldn't want as many members as they have (because it's insane) but it'd be nice to attract a few more members, nay?

I don't know if this was already answered, but about the activity thing... how are you going to know if someone is truely active besides the posting. I mean if someone is truely active shouldn't they somewhere say something about being active?

I think that, in regard to the inactive characters, it really wouldn't be fair to just let them rot away; maybe we can have a thread to later hammer out the details for that;;

As for the discipline thing, we need to take all the bad habits and nip them in the bud (s); what just happened above me needs to be addressed (in the staff board) I will get a thread started as soon as I have time ^^ (which might be a while D=)
