Residing ∙ Starlingfeather is a ThunderClan cat. She resides in the leafy forest in which the rest of her Clanmates live in.
Character Type DeputyMindset
Overall Personality ∙ Starlingfeather is generally a pretty kind and caring she-cat to her Clanmates. She likes to be given leadership and to order others around. She puts her Clan over her friends, rather than the other way around like some other cats in her Clan. She won't hesitate to point out things that other cats are doing wrong, however, if she feels it as necessary. While her ThunderClan Clanmates may see the kind side of her, she's a completely different cat in battle.
She doesn't quite trust any other Clan, not even the Clan that ThunderClan is currently forming an alliance with, if they are. She always has her eye on them, and isn't generally one to show any kindness to them. She can get emotional easier than others and is considered rather sensitive. But whatever she does in ThunderClan, she doesn't want a mate or kits. She feels that it's just way too much to handle.
Additional Tidbits ∙ N/AReflection
Overall Appearance ∙ Starlingfeather is a calico colored she-cat. Her eyes are a sparking green which seem to see into your soul when she glances at you. There is a patch in between her two ears in which the fur is slightly darker than the rest of the fur on her face. Her ears are long and big, and they're always up there, pointed high up. Her fur is medium-lengthed.
Starlingfeather's tail is kinked as well. Her claws are long but not necessarily kept sharp, which is good for hunting and digging, but not fighting. Her tail is long, which is useful for climbing the tall trees of her territory. She doesn't have much muscle. In build, Starlingfeather looks more like a WindClanner than a ThunderClanner, being lean.Backstory
Family History ∙ Starlingfeather was born in a litter of two, and her parents were Eaglefeather and Sandclaw. The cats important to her will be mentioned in the next section.
When Starlingfeather became an apprentice and was first taken out into the territory for the first time, she was rather surprised at how large and diverse her territory was. But, like always, she thought that her mentor was just too pushy. Oh, Starlingpaw! Don't touch that, that's dangerous! Don't poke your nose into that clump of ferns and come along!
All of that annoyed her. So one day, she snuck out of the camp. She encountered a badger out on her own, and, thinking that she was strong, attacked it. She had already learned a few fighting techniques, but it was too much for her. She got greatly injured and obtained a few scars before another warrior heard her cry for help.
Family ∙ Parents - Eaglefeather (father) and Sandclaw (mother).
Sibling(s) - Forestwood (brother)
Mate - None
Birthplace ∙ Starlingfeather's birth was just a normal cat's birth. Her mother knew that she was expecting kits, and stayed in the camp during the time. She gave birth in the nursery, while eating a blackbird that her mate, Eaglefeather, had brought her.
Background ∙ Starlingfeather was born as Starlingkit. She was given birth to in the ThunderClan nursery, with her mother eating a blackbird. She was the older cat of the two-kit litter, coming out before her brother, Forestwood. When Starlingfeather first opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was her brother's black colored fur.
While she opened her eyes, her mother was asleep. When she had awaken, however, she soon found out that her firstborn had indeed opened her eyes and called for her father. Since then, she has recieved more attention than her brother, causing Forestwood to resent her. He would go without talking to her for days, ignoring her, when they reached apprentice age.
Starlingfeather was given to the warrior Skypelt as an apprentice. She excelled more at hunting than fighting because, according to Skypelt, she was never quick or strong enough. Wanting to prove herself, and to rid herself of her mentor's grip, if only for just a little, she left the camp. That was when she encountered the badger, described above.
After she was attacked and rescued by a few other warriors who had happened to be patrolling in the area of the attack, she was rushed to the camp, where her mother, who knew the basic herbs, took care of her as best as she could. Gradually she recovered, even if it was a bit slowly. Even though her mentor had liked her, he still delivered the punishment of caring for the elders for half a moon. It was from Skypelt where she learned to be brisk and straightforward, saying what she felt.
But because of that escapade, she was always kept a closer watch on. Rather than earning freedom and "justice", she just got more of the strictness flowing from Skypelt, which grately annoyed her. Of course, that was because neither her parents nor her mentor wanted her to get into another scrap, but it didn't make her feel better. Not at all, because, in fact, her temper got worse and worse over the moons.
Her warrior ceremony was delayed for a short while because she had spent quite an amount of time laying there in the Warrior's Den, healing. When she finally became a warrior, her ceremony a few moons overdue, there was one night where she went out on a walk with another tomcat, Thrushfeather, at night.
Was he her crush? You couldn't really say that. She vowed to remain without a mate forever. He was merely another acquaintance, or friend, or her's. That night, she confided in him about her doings and her true, innermost feelings. He helped her feel better, and she became just as she was before. She still had a sharp tongue, as that was her true nature underneath, but she no longer was acting like she hated her life all the time.Sample
Starlingfeather crept silently along the long ferns of her territory, gazing around with her green, narrowed eyes. This was it. Her solo patrol to go out to make sure that none of the other Clanners or, even worse, loners, were on the ThunderClan territory. If she found them... then, well, she certainly wouldn't be happy.
And definetely not soft enough to just let them go without some warning first. Punishment had to be delivered. That was what she'd learned from Skypelt back when she was Starlingpaw, and was his apprentice. It was true that they'd fallen out on times, but there still had been friendship between them; enough for her to learn a few things from him.
She scented the air once more, flashing her gaze around the clearing. Mouse. Shrew. And... was it really? ShadowClan!
Teeth bared in a furious snarl, she stalked forward towards the base of an oak tree, to find the scent stronger. Some sneaky thief had definetely been here. There was absolutely no question about that. But perhaps if she hurried, she could catch them. Just perhaps.
With that thought, she quickened her steps into a gallop, in the hopes of pursuing the unwelcome invader.Contract
