Honeyclaw woke up from a sweet dream, she was chaseing a mouse. When she pounced she was just about to land on the mouse and take its life when she woke up. "Only if it lasted!" Honeyclaw muttered to herself. She looked around the den and seen that all the other warriors were asleep, she got up and picked her way out of the warriors den, when she got outside she streached till her belly fur touched the ground. She looked around the camp, barely any cat was up and about, finally Honeyclaw gaze slid towards the fresh-kill pile. "I will eat and than go and catch food to fill every one in the camp!" Honeyclaw thought. She walked over to the fresh-kill pile and grabed a plump mouse.
"Hello!" Said a very cheerfull voice "How may i assist the all lovely Honeyclaw?!" Said the voice again. Honeyclaw looked over here shoulder to see the medicine-cat Hawkwing. When Hawkwing was a apprentice his mentor died so he decided to be a medicine cat to save cats from the brink of deathe like his mentor. Hawkwing secretly loved Honeyclaw as a warrior apprentice but now he was a medicine cat, Hawkwing still loved Honeyclaw even though it was agenst the code. "Hi Hawkwing!" Honeyclaw meowed. "Can i tell yah a secret?" Hawkwing asked. "Sure?" Honeyclaw meowed. Hawkwing leaned down and whispered very quitely in Honeyclaws ear "That mouse is now mine." Hawkwing whipped down farther and snatched up Honeyclaws mouse.
"Oh no! That mouse has the right to be the prey of Honeyclaw!" Honeyclaw yowled playfully. Hawkwing was already halfway across the camp when Honeyclaw yowled at him. He droped his mouse to look back and to see Honeyclaw jump up and dart forward towards him. Gasping at Honeyclaws speed Hawkwing snatched up the mouse again and ran towards his den. He needed a break and to catch his breath Honeyclaw pounding paws had stopped so he thought it was clear, he dropped the mouse on the ground and looked around, he looked at the nursry and he thought he saw a tan tip of a tail vanish behind the den but he thought it was his eyes. After he caught his breath he picked up the mouse as soon as he picked it up a cat butted him in the side with its head knocking the breath out of him!
Hawkwing lay winded for a second than he fought back he kicked out with his hing legs and felt the weight vanish he got up only to be greeted with another attack this time the two cats wreastled in the sandy earth till they were both panting hard. "Nice moves! I thought i could have had you there!" Honeyclaw meowed. "And i thought you would flatten me with your weight!" teased Hawkwing. Honeyclaw cuffed Hawkwing in the ear with her paw. "Are you guys going to be as loud as a blind badger all day?" a voice snapped from the elders den. Honeyclaw looked over to see a elders head pokeing out of the ferns on top of the den
"No need to worry about the elders." Hawkwing said. "They have been haveing some stiff joints lately." Honeyclaw just nodded to show she had heard. Honeyclaw turned her head at a touch on her shoulder, she turned to see Hawkwings deep blue eyes. "You know we can never be toghether right? Honeyclaw asked him. As she asked him she seen a deep pain in his blue eyes. "I mean you know I love you too its just your a medicine cat." Honeyclaw said those words and they were filled with pain.
A strong sense swet over Hawkwing " I will find a way to make it happen." He whispered to Honeyclaw. Hawkwing bent down and put his head on top of her head breathing in her sweet sent, he liked to say that her sent was like honey, smelling sweet and looking sweet. In return of Hawkwing putting his head on Honeyclaw,she licked him on the chest. The two sat there for a few minutes breathing in each others sent. Hawkwing opened one eye a little bit to take in his surroundings. Cats from all dens were watching him, Honeyclaws words echoeds in his mind" We can never be toghether. Hawkwing flexed his claws anger showing in his eyes and thoght"No I WILL find a way."
