Clouds stampeded over the vast blue sky over ShadowClan, blocking out the sun every now and again. The croak of the frogs can be heard in the wind, which whistled through the trees, silently, stealthily. Shadows flashed in different places every time, almost as if warning that night was coming fast with every minute that passed. A young tom sat outside of the Warrior's Den, crunching on a skinny frog. Licking his maw of the slippery gunk, Venompool looked around for Silvermist. Must be out training Dreampaw, usually she would never miss our lunch together, Venompool mused as he watched the clouds. One looked like a big dog, more like a wolf, and in it's cloudy mouth, was a cloud heart. "Huh. What could that mean? Nothing, or maybe something. A wolf chewing a heart? Hmmmmmm," he mused, fully engrossed in the cloud formation that he didn't notice that someone was watching him..

Wolfsong twitched in her doze. She was dreaming, again. She was hunting when suddenly, all around her mist began falling, making no noise as it silently hit the ground. She looked down to see her claws covered in blood, her claws shining in the moonlight. "What have i become?" she wailed, then was lost in a sea of nothingness. An image flashed through her mind, Venompool. She squeezed her eyes tight and tried to force his face out of his mind. his broad, strong shoulders, and sharp, stinging tongue. "I would give it all" she whispered.

The ground quivered beneath her for a moment, and she saw her other, claws out and teeth bared. "You will be like me daughter, dont forget it" she snarled, her eyes filled with mocking laughter. "No! i will never be like you, i am in love, and i will do what i must, for him" Wolfsong said, howling again. "Oh my" her mother stepped back and her face turned nito pure disbelief. "You have come, the prophecy was correct, there will be one of your kin in the 3rd Leaffall of your life, that will be born with the heart, soul, and howl purer than the strongest wolf, it is you" her mother whispered, her eyes filled with awe. "it is said that the chosen one shall have the purest of wolf blood" her mother told her, then bowed her head and vanished. "I must tell Venompool" Wolfsong told herself, then a black wave swept over her eyes, and she fell to the forest floor.

Venompool heard screaming and yowling coming from inside the Warrior's Den. Instincts told him something was wrong, so he jumped to his paws and bolted towards the den. "What happened?" he meowed, looking in. All he saw was his long lost friend, Wolfsong. He padded over to Wolfsong, and nudged her with his paw. "Wolfsong? Are you okay? What happened?" he interrogated. He didn't know that she loved him, but he guessed she did every now and again. What would he say if she did? He couldn't love her, because his heart belonged to Silvermist and only her. He only loved Wolfsong as a close friend, not a mate. Sighing, he nudged her again. "Wake up sleepy bones. You were screaming and yowling you old cat," Venompool teased.

Wolfsong blinked open her eyes. At first she thought she was dreaming again when she saw Venompool leaning over her, but then she realized it was real. "Sorry" she whisperd before standing up and shaking out her pelt. "i was um... dreaming, again" she said, looking up into this blood colored eyes. "Can i tell you something?" she said, suddenly afraid of everything around her. "Venompool, love you with all of my heart and soul, and would give anything, but i know we cant be together, so maybe Stormheart and I could try to glue back the pieces together" she todl him,feeling her heart rip into two. "i am in a prophecy, My mother was told that there would be one of her kin with a heart, soul, and howl purer than the strongest of all wolves, and i dont even know what my destiny holds" she looked up at him, hoping, praying he would have something to say.

Venompool cursed in his head as Wolfsong spilled her feelings to him. What do I do now? he thought. The tom was overwhelmed at the fact that she was part of a prophecy, and that she loved him but tries to hide it by being with Stormheart. He couldn't talk, think, or barely breathe. Why now? he cursed in his head. "You...are part of a prophecy? How is that even possible? A heart, soul, and howl purer than the strongest of wolves? We aren't even dogs," his words were slurs as he tried to find the right ones, though he didn't mean for it to sound harsh. We can't even howl! We are cats, not dogs! Has she gone insane......he thought, outraged by what this cat had told him. "And why didn't you tell me you loved me a long time ago? We could've been together, but I love Silvermist now," he scoffed. A fire was burning inside him and was fueled by frustration and confusion. "Look, I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, but it's a lot to take in...."

"I know, and this is why i must go away, not forever, but for a little while, at least, until i figure out what to do. I think I will go to the Tribe of Rushing Water" Wolfsong looked up at him, wishing her eyes betrayed everything she felt inside so she didnt have to say it outloud. "i know you love Silvermist, and you two belong together, you make each other happy, and i would never ruin that for you, I care that much and if it hurts you or her, i would rather die than do it" her emerald eyes were crystal clear, and she knew he wouldn't understand. Wouldn't understand how much she had and would give for him. "As long as you are happy, I shall be too" she whispered, meaning every single word of it. "Maybe, someday, if you ever lose Silvermist, you will know how I feel, and the pain I go through every single day of my life" she whispered, looking up into his blood red eyes. "If you only knew what I go through every moment of life, unless I am with Stormheart" she told him, "Stormheart is there for me, he knows how I feel, considering he was in love with Silvermist" she said, her emerald eyes glowing with anger and love, like fire on fire.

Venompool's head began to spin in the sea of confusing words. Was she really leaving? She can't leave us now, it's almost Leafbare! "Wait," he meowed, his eyes full of hurt and rejection. He really loved her, just not the way he does Silvermist. "Please, don't leave. We'll all miss you, especially me. You are all I had from my old life, like my only friend who knows me in and out. I love you, Wolfsong, but not in the way you think I do. I love you like a sister, a best friend, like you were my kin. Remember when we were just kits and used to play around together, and how easy it was? Why can't it be that way now, just easy for us to hang out like old times. Just please, don't go," he begged, pouring his heart out. Wolfsong was his only friend from his old life, he remember vaugely that they both used to play around when they were kits and sneak out to play fight or just talk. He just remembered that.

Wolfsong sighed, was he right? "I know you love me as kin, Venompool, and for that I thank you, for being there for me" she told him, meaning it. "But I'm not sure" she said, lookink up at him. "I guess you are right" she said, ducking her head down and putting her tail between her legs, shivering. "Thank you Venompool, for everything" she said after a few moments, walking towards the tunnel, going to be in peace and quiet in the forest. She looked back at him for a moment, wondering about herself, and the pain she had put him in, just talking to him about her feelings. "Im sorry" she whispered.

Once she turned to look at him, he tried to talk, but his voice was lost. "Don't be," he whispered as she walked away. Venompool sighed and his blood-red eyes were full of rejection. All the moments they shared, the secrets passed between them, they were all gone. He stood there in silence as the reality sent into his brain. His best friend had left, and the Clan was down by one. It's my fault! Why didn't she tell me earlier? We could've been together! he thought to himself, kicking over a loose rock with his front paw. Venompool growled to himself.

Wolfsong looked back, staring at him for what could have lasted forever, or what could've lasted a moment. She sighed, "Just be happy, and I can live my life" she whispered, knowing he wouldn't hear her. She ducked her head down, feeling loneliness creep its way up to her heart and clutch it with icy claws. She breathed out, feeling the warmth of his presence going out with the breath. "Venompool, thank you, for everything" she whispered, making her way out into the forest.

Venompool looked up and saw she was gone. She really did leave, he thought. The tom felt is heart seep through his paws and taint the ground with his hurt. The icy reality snagged his heart with it's talon and ripped it to shreds. He was broken, a broken warrior. He'd lost everything that was dear to him, and he could never be fixed again. I can't stand here and watch her go, he thought. Lifting his head up, he bolted towards the forest. "Wolfsong! Wolfsong! Don't go!" he called, but no reply came back. He ran but it lead him no where. She really had vanished.

Wolfsong felt her heart being ripped into pieces. She heard Venompool yowl, and she squeezed her eyes shut, not wanting to hear the pain in his voice, not wanting it to sink in deep into her soul. "I have to do this" she told herself, wishing that she could tell him how much she had loved him, praying that he understood that this was her only option. She couldn't just stay there. Venompool was her everything, and she couldn't be with him. "Im sorry" she whispered "Im so so sorry"
