Character’s Name ∙ Shadowpaw
Age ∙ 9 Moons
Gender ∙Male
Residing ∙ ShadowClan (Forest)
Character Type ∙ ApprenticeMindset
Overall Personality ∙ Shadowpaw isn't the type of cat that you'd like to make fun of. He's very sensitive about insults and gets mad at them quite easily. He fears deeply for his other Clan mates and hates to see other cats get hurt. Also the type to get nervous easily, he doesn't do well with hunting yet. He knows he has to work on that skill before he becomes a respectable warrior.
Shadowpaw also takes a liking to the marshy area of ShadowClan. He's kind and caring for the most part, but when protecting his Clan, he becomes hostile. He's scared of fighting cats for the most part, but when it comes right down to it, he's not that bad of a fighter. The only way he's recognized this was because he and other kits would play fight in the nursery. He used to be scared that he would lose, but when he would actually try, he would win.Reflection
Height ∙ About 7 1/2 inches
Overall Appearance ∙ Shadowpaw is an average-looking tom with bright yellow eyes. He has a short coat of fur and long whiskers streaming from his cheeks. He has unusual, long claws that are used for fighting when needed. Shadowpaw's tail is a little longer than most, but he doesn't think much of that. His eye sockets are big causing him to have bigger eyes than most cats, as well.
He has short, but sharp, teeth that only show themselves when he's smiling. Also, he had big paws; he needs to grow into them. He has big ears that he got from his father, but he can't hear better than any other cat in the forest. The fur right above his nose has a couple of white speckles on it, but nothing more. Other than that, he's a solid, black tom.Backstory
Family History ∙ The only thing of importance about his family history was that his father was a rough.
Family ∙ Mother: Cloverfall
Father: Hawk
Birthplace ∙ In The marshlands of ShadowClan
Background ∙ Shadowpaw was born in the marshlands and not the actual Camp itself is because his mother wanted to keep his birth a secret. The medicine cat at the time had also allowed her to keep it a secret, not wanting her friend to get into trouble.
The medicine cat allowed Cloverfall to eat the special herb that would allow her to able to keep his birth a secret. When his birthing time had come to Cloverfall, she and the medicine cat, Petalstorm, had wandered out into the forest together, Petalstorm secretly taking the herbs with her so she could perform a good birth and not have anything go wrong.
When Shadowpaw was born, Cloverfall had almost died from the amount of blood loss. Of course he was helpless at the time, but he always somehow feels responsible for almost killing his beloved mother. He grew up with a couple of other kits in the nursery, Silverkit, Talonkit, and Boulderkit. They were all his friends, but they secretly didn’t like him. Well, Shadowpaw doesn’t know that for sure, but it was just how he really felt.
Every day seemed to go by slower and slower as he waited to become an apprentice only though he was just about three moons old. He wanted to learn; he wanted to help his Clan in any way he could to make things better and to make ShadowClan have a better future. And for that to happen, all he could do at the moment was wait and let the other warriors, apprentices, medicine cat, and Leader take care of that…Such an agonizing wait to Shadowpaw. So tough, so hard.
He had eventually learned how to sneak out of Camp.
Every kit’s fantasy…Just to see the world as it really is. The urge to go out of the walls of the Camp and to see what world they really lived in and break the bubble they had been growing up in for so long. That’s the way Shadowpaw felt, at least. He felt like he was going to surge with excitement when he figured out how to sneak past the sleepy guards in late Sundown and to just throw them out of his way. They couldn’t stop him. Nothing could. Nothing would.
Shadowpaw had found his way into the marshlands, and then he fell in love with him. He would never know why he loved the marshes so much, but he just did, he knew that. He loved them with all of his heart, and if he could, he would stay there for the rest of his life. But, of course, nothing is left up to him. Nobody ever listens to the kits in this world. Why not just move the whole Clan into the marshes? That would be great…But, he knew it would help the Clan at all. If anything, put them into fights with each other from the frustrating thought of their paws being wet all the time. Not matter how much he denied it, Shadowpaw knew that he wouldn’t be able to live in the marshes either, if he would only try. Though, he still longed for it.
Returning home that night, he had been caught .Caught red-handed into the grip of the ShadowClan warriors, and most of all, his mother. His mother gave him the scolding of a lifetime and told him that he now might not become an apprentice at the right time. And if he kept it up, he might not become an apprentice at all.
Well, now, that was enough to keep him in the Camp.
Just like before, everything started to move slowly again…Shadowpaw could only stay in the nursery, looking at the outside world of the wonderful forest when he would come out to play with his kit friends.
The day would come soon. He kept telling himself. It had to, right?
He was right. Shadowpaw knew he had to be right. The day had finally come. He was getting apprenticed! In his opinion, it was about time. When the leader had said the official ceremonial chant and then he was assigned a warrior. Sharpfang.
To his dismay, the leader had told him that he hadn’t come up with an idea for his mentor yet, but he just wanted to get him apprenticed so he would literally just shut up about it. It was then Shadowpaw actually realized he was bugging other cats about it. His fur grew hot under his pelt and he tried not to let it show, but that came to no avail.
He now only waits for a mentor to come to him.Sample
