Name Change Issues

Due to current circumstances, I think the double Eaglepaw issue should be taken up in this board, since it seems to have gotten out of control.

I shall state my feelings on the case first, since it IS my problem.

In case you havent been aware of the problem, (you probably have lived in abox that last few weeks) me and another member on this site nave a character both by the name of Eaglepaw. Under normal circumstances, I would've just let it go and whatnot, but since this site is so small, I don't think having 2 characters of the same name would be logical. I posted the following:

I'm sorry T, I know you want everyone to get along and everything, but we really can't have two Eaglepaws. When I make the character account for mine, they could get mixed up. And having two of the same prefix is not canon in the books. I don't think it's quite fair to let a newer member have a charrie that has a similiar-if-not-the-same name as an older charrie's. It makes the older charrie less unique and all that. For example:

Jan 3, 2007- Seniormember makes "Jessica"
December 28, 2009- Newbie makes "Jessica"

It just doesn't work.

I am not being prejudice against new members or anything, but this is really starting to upset me, and hoping you will take action.

I mean, can you really blame me for wanting an original and unique character? It didnt seem that much to ask of Icefoot to change her charrie's name, but apparently I was wrong. Upon logging in today, I received this PM:

No offense, but it's kind of/really babyish that your getting so upset because there are two cats with the same name...? It's called TOLERANCE. I mean really, I'm not trying to upset your fragile nerves even more, but there is no excuse for getting so upset because I happen to have a character with the same name as you. I actually deny your name change request, because I feel you just can't take another person having attention. You get 'confused..?' O.O? HELLO. IT'S CALLED PUT A ONE IN YOUR USER NAME SO IT CAN BE EAGLEPAW1 or something. It's not that hard! And it's not canon in the books? Oh really? GRAYPOOL/GRAYSTRIPE. HELLOOOOOOOOO. w/e anyway so I'm not changing my name. Kick me off if you want or whatever but I absolutely am not changing my name

Whooooa there.

It's one thing to bring up a problem with me, but another to purposely insult me. I wasn't trying to get attention, and it was rude of you to assume so. Plus, Graypool and Graystripe were never Graypaw at the same time like our characters are, so your argument seems somewhat flawed. Plus, it seemed more "babyish" to me that your'e trying to start some sort of catfight with me. I dont want to start a fight and I'm definetly not trying to get you kicked off. I'm just trying to fix simple problem, and the point of this post is to point out the unfair judgement I am receiving from you and fix said problem. That's all. No need for flames, really.

this is awful, and I totally see where Merc is coming from (well, sort of)

It's not so much confusion for me as pickiness -- I don't think that warrior cats should have the same prefixes while both are still alive;
and before anyone flaunts examples, allow me to point out that Graypool was an elder while Graystripe was a new warrior;; same goes for Mousefur and Mousewhisker;;

The issue has been dealt with and the character in question is to be renamed Larkpaw.

There is no more need for disscussion of this topic on an open board. Thread closed.
