Backstory
Family History ∙
Family ∙ Mother: Petal, Father: Scar. Siblings, Sand and Shard, were both killed by father when he went crazy. Sand was a sandy calico with dark orange spots and really dull black ones. SHard was like their father: Muscular and white with icy blue eyes. Petal was a calico with amber/green eyes and Scar was a pure white tom with a ragged red scar cutting through one eye. He had icy blue eyes.
Birthplace ∙ Was born near Mothermouth on a rocky outcrop in some ferns. It was sandy ground with cover from some brambles behind them. Mothermouth was only a few fox-lengths away.
Background ∙
Emberflare was born a loner. Her mother,Petal, tryed to protect her against her father who had been bitten by a rabid raccon. He had killed all the other kits so only Ember was left. Petal took her to ThunderClan territory where she hid her under a tree root. Then Petal ran back to lead Scar, the father, astray. Petal and Scar were hit by a monster while running across a thunderpath. A ThunderClan patrol came by later and found Ember. A young queen named Sagewhisker offered to nurse her with her other kits. Ember’kit’ was then adopted into this ThunderClan family. When Emberkit became an apprentice with her older siblings, a fox broke into the nursery. Sagewhisker fought to the death defending the other queens and kits there. Badgerpaw and Kestralpaw, Emberpaw’s adopted brother, were angry at the fox for killing their mother and went after it. Their bodies were found near the thunderpath. No one knows what happened to them.
Emberpaw trained alone from then. She felt angry at the world for doing this to her. She lost both her families in one moon. Sagewhisker’s mate, Thistlefoot, went crazy with grief and blamed everything on Emberpaw. He disappeared one morning and was never seen again. Emberpaw felt hollow and cold. She cared about no one, she refused to eat and she unsheathed her claws at playful kits. Everyone avoided her, not knowing what to think. Even Emberpaw’s mentor, Feathertail, refused to look at her! Ember ran off one day, past the thunderpath, all the way to mothermouth. Her birthplace. She entered the acient cave and visited with StarClan. They told her that she should forget her past and look to the future, be the best she could be. “You will do great things some day,” They said, “but they won’t happen if you go on like this. Turn around and go home, they’re looking for you.” Emberpaw had felt like wailing like a loist kit. Or lost apprentice. “I don’t know where home is!” But Emberpaw had went back to ThunderClan. There she met Feathertail, who had been worried with grief. Feathertail led her back to camp where she was greeted happily and warrmly by her clanmates. Emberpaw remembered StarClan‘s words and did th best she could. She trained harder, hunted harder, fought harder. Kits always looked to her for fun.
Emberpaw was later named Emberflare. She is now wise, calm, sly, strong, fierce, cautious, caring, funny, a bit head-strong, secretive, loyal and trustworthy. She would make a great deputy because she turns her back to the past and looks to the future.

Emberflare would make a great deputy because she has felt the hollow sadness of death many times. Cold experiances have left her wise and strong. She is smart and a quick-thinker. She is ready for what comes her way and is brave and confident. She would fight for her clan to the death. She isn’t easy to fool either and she chooses her words wisely.
Emberflare was picking her way through the forest, alone. She pricked her ears at the sound of caterwauling ahead of her. The scent of ShadowClan and RiverClan overwhelmed her and she picked up her pace. Soon she was sprinting through the undergrowth. By the river was a young ShadowClan tom. Across from him was a silver RiverClan she-cat. The two cats didn’t notice her and kept on screeching insults at eachother. Emberflare laid down under a beech tree in the cool shade and watched the fight with a calm, concentrated look in her eyes.
“Prey-stealer! Keep your fishy face away from my territory!”
“Me? A prey-stealer? You must be mistaken. I wouldn’t put one paw in you muddy territory! Neither would I eat a mouse.”
“EXCUSES! I don’t believe you! Your scent is everywhere past the scent-marker–” He couldn’t finish because Emberflare had gotten up and walked in between the two.
“And both of yours are past mine.”
The tom looked baffled and te she-cat surprised.
“What the StarClan are you two quarreling about on my territory?” Emberflare demanded. The cats looked embarrassed.
“We didn’t notice.” The she-cat mewed, licking her chest to hide her carelessness.
“Next time, watch where you walk. I WILL report this to my leader.”
The cats gave her a look of shock and fear. Emberflare’s look told them they were both mouse-brains.
“You think I’m gonna lay back and let this go? Well forget it. Now what are you bickering about?” The tom immediatly stood upo.
“She crossed my territory.”
“I didn’t!” the she-cat cristled with hatred.
“Prove it!” The tom retorted.
“Shut it!” Emberflare hissed. The tom unsheathed his claws.
“What makes it that you can tell me what to do?!” He growled.
“Well, you’re on my territory.” She pointed out. The she-cat gave the tom a smug look. “You too.” Emberflare said, turning to her. The she-cat scowled.
“Now, you.” Emberflare gave the tom a commanding look. “What proof do you have that she crossed your scent marker?”
“Her scent is EVERYWHERE!”
Emberflare sniffed the wind. It was blowing towards ShadowClan territory. Emberflare started padding to the scent marker between ShadowClan and ThuderClan, nose in the air. The two cats reluctantly followed. When they reached it, Emberflare narrowed her eyes and glared across the thunderpath at ShadowClan territory.
She rounded on the tom. “You mouse-brain!” She hissed. “The wind carried her scent over there! She didn’t set a paw across the marker.” The tom’s eyes widened. He was bigger and older then Emberflare but not smarter. The tom blushed, fear reflected in his eyes.
“Apoligize to her.” Emberflare instructed, jerking her head towards the RiverClan she-cat who held a triumphant look on her face.
The tom hung his head shamefully and mumbled something.
“Look her in the eye and say you’re sorry!” The tom looked up sharply.
I’m sorry!” he hissed.
“Good. Now go!” the tom turned and ran, tail between legs, across the Thunderpath and into ShadowClan territory.
“Thank you.” the RiverClan she-cat dipped her head. Emberflare smiled.
“It was nothing. Now you better head off too. I’ll escort you to the river, in case any patrols catch you.”
The she-cat dipped her head one more time and together the two she-cat trudged through the undergrowth to the river. There the she-cat thanked Emberflare one more time before leaving.
