Leafpaw woke and yawned loudly. Gazing around, she caught glimpse of a ginger cat outside the apprentice den. Tiredly and with a ton of effort, she got up and peered outside. The cat looked red with brown spots. Leafpaw didn't recognize this cat. Perhaps it was an intruder from a different clan! Leafpaw jumped out of the den, and the other apprentices murmered in there sleep for her to get off. Leafpaw hurled herself at the intruder. Quickly, a warrior jumped for the intruder. Half awake, an apprentice came out and saw his mentor attacked. He got ready to pounce in to save his mentor, but the medicine cat held him back. The warrior fighting told Leafpaw to leave the fight and get more warriors. She refused and together they pinned the intruder down. Panting, Leafpaw saw the intruder closely for the first time. It was not a cat. It was a vicious fox. Leafpaw called for more warriors. By the moons light they worked to fight off the fox. A crying newborn kit toddled out of the nursery. Leafpaw saw the kit and bounced over to help the terrified kit. Starclan help Thunderclan, Leafpaw thought. Just then, a bright star came into vision. It was so bright the whole camp was filled with it's twinkling light. Leafpaw gazed in amazement, and the fox, surprised, ran out of camp, cowering. The camp was filled with this sparkling light all night. Soon, the cats were back to sleep, but Leafpaw just gazed in the sparkling starlight, tired and happy to have helped.
